Booking takes a few minutes
Open the booking page on your phone or computer. It is open 24/7, so you can book from the couch on a Sunday night for Monday morning. Here is what it asks for.
- The service. Pick from the list: oil change, tires, brakes, battery, safety, rustproofing, scan and the rest. Where there is a posted price, you see it before you choose.
- A time. Pick an open slot. The shop is open Monday to Friday 8:30am to 6pm and Saturday 9:30am to 2pm.
- The car. Scan the VIN with your phone camera through the windshield or on the door jamb sticker, or enter the year, make and model.
- The problem. A few sentences in your own words. When it started, whether it happens cold or once the engine is warm, at highway speed or over bumps on Innes Road.
- Photos. Up to 4. A warning light on the dash, a puddle under the car, a tire with a screw in it, a rusty brake line.
- Drop off. Choose this if you plan to leave the car with us. The last drop off is 2pm.

After you book
You get a confirmation with the date and time. On the day, bring the car to Unit 1, 1541 Star Top Road, Ottawa, Ontario, beside Highway 417 Exit 112. See directions if it is your first visit.
We look at the car, then call you with what we found and the price before any work starts. For a fixed price job like an oil change or a tire swap, the price is already on the price list. For anything else, such as brakes or a car that clunks over potholes, the phone call is where you hear the number.
If you are not sure what to book, choose the $50 computer diagnostics or Other. That gets the car in front of us, and we work out the rest.
Cancelling or moving a booking
Plans change. If you cannot make it, call (613) 744-1521 so the slot can go to someone else.
A car that will not start
The shop does not tow. If the car will not start, book it under the car won’t start service, then arrange a tow to 1541 Star Top Road, or call (613) 744-1521 first.
Questions people ask
Can I book a mechanic online in Ottawa at night?
Yes. SA Auto Repair takes bookings 24/7 at https://fluxfront.ca/book/sa-auto-repair. You pick the service and the time yourself, and the booking is confirmed on the spot. The shop then sees it when it opens at 8:30am on weekdays or 9:30am on Saturday.
What if my problem is not on the booking list?
Choose Other and describe what the car is doing. Say when it happens and what you hear, smell or see. We read it and plan the visit around it.
What time do I need to drop off my car?
The last drop off of the day is 2pm. When you book, you can choose to leave the car with us, and the booking page shows the 2pm cutoff.
Do I need my VIN to book?
No. You can scan the VIN with your phone camera, which fills in the exact vehicle, or type the year, make and model instead. The VIN helps when parts differ between trims of the same model.
Book a time that suits you
Pick a time on the booking page whenever it suits you, describe what the car is doing and add a few photos. Drop it off by 2pm on the day you picked.
